This web site will lead you on the discovery of the many ways that the computer and web 2.0 tools can be used effectively in the elementary art room. Some of the lessons demonstrate the use of technology as a method of presentation and instruction. While other lessons will more actively engage students with the use of technology.

The lessons I created here are using Windows OS 2000 and XP but the ideas can be used with other computer operating systems. This is not meant to be an endorsement of a particular computer or program but rather to encourage creative thinking using the tools you have available.  I have taught many of these lessons using everything from a single classroom computer to a lab setting.

Some of the lesson ideas I have used and some I plan on using. When you do use an lesson or idea from this presentation please leave a comment.

We will begin with a simple lesson that can be used in both at lab setting and with students at a single computer in the art classroom.

The next lesson uses a program that may be a little more involved because it requires you to work with your school tech to download and install a free program on your computers.

The third lesson involves the use of a scanner, imaging software and a printer.

Next we get into the use of web 2.0 tools. For this you need a computer with an internet connection. These projects also encourage collaboration between students and also allow the students to experience an asynchronous learning environment.

This is an amazing tool for our students and our teachers. What a great way to network. Thanks Chan!

I like the Tate Museum addition to the wiki. GREAT!! The info on Rothko was extremely valuable. I plan to use the info when I teach my college class on mid-20th century art. The Street Art info I plan to use with my 5th graders!
